Our Approach
Awake Education, through an innovative curriculum based on educational neuroscience and data-based research, will implement a growth mindset approach in all aspects of student development.
Through a rigorous, project-based learning and an arts-integrated curriculum, Awake students will constantly be engaging their creative intelligence in an environment that rewards perseverance through challenge.
Awake students will regularly develop community outreach and service projects thereby developing their sense of stewardship and civic responsibility.
Awake Education recognizes the importance of connecting students with the natural world as a way to awaken students' sense of wonder and curiosity, as well as their desire to care for and protect the natural world. Awake schools will strive to be environmentally sustainable and will instill the principles of sustainability in students.
Awake Education recognizes the importance that physical health and activity play in cognitive development. As such, Awake will incorporate movement, athletics, and healthy meal programs into schools. Awake Education provides a learning environment that helps students recognize their inherent worthiness and intelligence. Through its social/emotional curriculum, Awake students learn strategies for success in all aspects of their life.
Awake Education also recognizes the importance of parental involvement in student achievement. As such, Awake offers parent programming in areas such as overcoming language and literacy hurdles, how to implement the social/emotional curriculum at home as well others based on demographics and need.
